We may bend but never breakagfc2
In early August of 2001, I was driving south on Highway #169 in the Minnesota River Valley, and, for some reason, I was arguing with myself as to whether or not God really exists. Right then, I came to a curve in the road and was able to view a beautiful scene of a hillside of lush green trees, a partly cloudy sky, a small stream and the prairie stretching far off to the west, all in one long glance. I think God magnified the beauty of this scene at that particular moment. I said out loud, I know God exists. All of this could not have just happened.
I believe for God’s reason, He wanted me to declare Him to be “The Creator.” This was the initial experience God used to launch and draw me into a focus on the literal truth of God’s Account of Creation in Genesis 1 and 2.
This was one of the several ways I mentioned in a previous writing that the Holy Spirit used to draw me to Jesus, giving my self and my life to God and making the commitment to follow and serve Jesus Christ for the rest of my life.
In December of 2001, I was glancing through channels on TV and happened to catch a statement made on a program called Creation in the 20th Century. For nearly two centuries of record keeping, the sun has been recorded as shrinking in size at a specific rate each year and if the earth and sun were just 100,000 years old, its heat alone would make life impossible on earth.
I began watching Creation in the 20th Century on a regular basis and ordered a book from their website that brought about much awesome revelation. The material in the book titled Unlocking the Mysteries of Creation came from classes taught by Dennis R. Petersen. It opened my eyes to many truths. I still rejoice and remember that January of 2002 when I fully dismissed the idea of man evolving from apes. This silly idea was raised in an anthropology class I had taken many years ago in college. The book challenged and shared proof of false claims of evolutionists. The so-called missing link is still missing. I remember a week of dancing around my house saying “Go God go!
A few specific points I would like to share:
1) God IS the Creator of the heavens and earth, period. Not chance, not evolution.
2) God gave us the way to measure time. So the evening and the morning were the first day, so the evening and the morning were the second day, were the third day …. were the sixth day. We can see these days as being literal days.
Exodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. NKJV
Exodus 31:17 It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed. NKJV
Time was not measured before God created the heavens and the earth. The rotation of the earth pn its axis, its orbit around the sun, the moon’s orbit around the earth were given to us to measure time. Time was given for use by mankind. God has always existed outside of the measurement of time.
3) God is very literal. He literally created what He said He created and He did it in the six days as He describes in Genesis 1.
4) God did not leave His creation exist for thousands upon thousands, millions upon millions, or billions upon billions of years. No, genealogies point to the earth being created about 7,000 years ago. Death did not enter the world before sin. God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus (The Word that became flesh), 2,000 years ago and His blood sacrifice reconciled mankind to God. Praise the Lord!!
Eternity is close at hand and those who know Jesus as Lord and Savior can spend eternity in the presence of God, because of Jesus Christ and the shedding of His pure blood for mans’ sin against God.
With the on-going study and revelation concerning creation and seeing the simplistic literal truth of Genesis chapters 1-11 in particular, I always look at God’s Word in a literal way. The beginning is very literal and so is the ending. God is very literal.
God truly wants us to see Him clearly as The Creator. He is Almighty God! Not something less. God deserves our heartfelt worship with all our praise and thanksgiving each and every day of our lives.
In addition to my introduction to the literalness of God’s creation, I went on to actively seek out the teachings and materials of Answers in Genesis and the Institute of Creation Science along with other sources.
God has engrained within me a zeal to teach. I have taught on the Attributes of God and His literal Creation Account to children in Kids Church, VBS, and Kids Connection. Currently, I am teaching, by using Skype, a Sunday School class in Pakistan.
In addition, I have written many many letters and blogs. The blogs are posted here on Christianblog.com under series.
At the same time God led me into His truth about Creation, He gave me dreams, some with messages, about the End Times. I will devote the next few writings on End Time dreams and revelations.
